Clock unwinding, she had waited
Far too long, sky turning to the night.
"Am I alone?" she contemplated.
"Is this real? Is this right?"
If I tried to come back down
To where I can see it, there's no return.
And I know should I be the one to fall
I might as well beat it.
Step by step she elevated,
Climbing clouds and pulling with all her might.
Closing her mind to the ill-fated,
She sighed.
Could this leap be overrated?
Could she prove she had control of her life?
She had for so long anticipated
This test of courage this test of pride.
If I tried to come back down
To where I can see it, there's no return.
And I know should I be the one to fall
I might as well beat it.
And I, what I have found
Is that I am real
Free to be just the way I am
And if what I am
Is troublesome for you
Go on and ignore me.
If I tried to come back down
To where I can see it, there's no return.
And I know should I be the one to fall
I might as well beat it.
