You are thirteen
And just starting
You have your whole life in front of you

I see a boy turning into a man
Full of possibilities
He is smart and honest, strong, vulnerable
He can still shed a tear

I see a boy who loves his life
He can do whatever he wants to do
A scientist, a poet, a sportsman, a father
All of these choices are in front of you

Oh all I want you to know
Is how much I love you
Oh all I want you to hold
Is this proud father's blessing

I see a world full of wonder
That sometimes seems hard and confused
Remember to listen to your heart each day
What you truly love will guide you through
