The winter wind is blowing and it's blowing again
It comes in from the North and turns boys into men
It finds itself a fine one who's only two months old
It passes over his cradle and fills the pride within

At five years old he feels the cold deep inside of him
A familiar feeling he wonders where its been
And at ten years old he feels the breeze like two times before He
Begins to understand the sign of the freezing winter wind

At twenty years old the wind blew every year since he was ten He now
Knows he's been blessed with the color of his skin Cause the wind has
Spoke to him as a leader of this fight I've carried you through the
Time is right, now you're the winter wind

All battles he's won until one day he falls down to the ground As his
Heart beats for the last time that wind is the only sound As the voice
Of pride from father to son It's known as the winter wind Now carry us
On through my grandson you've made your old man proud
