She never had a boyfriend, but a lover every night,
Drivin' from a corner to a motel out of sight.
Sally was a young girl. It changed her, so I'm told.
The streets are very hard when you're seventeen years old.
She used to be so pretty but it seems she had to lose.
They identified her body on the Six O'Clock News.
Sally took a long ride lookin' for a lover.
Sally heard the same lies, one after another.
Sally had a hard life. It never got better.
Sally took a long ride and now she's gone forever.
