National front was going down
The checkerboard army ruled from coast to coast
For 20 years he carried that flag
From war to war
But what hurt him bad
Was that he found out people cared about the money most
And all the vultures
Who call themselves fans
Were never able to understand
That he was just an enemy of the system

The years roll by
The man is gone
In other worlds maybe he soldiers on
And now they realize he's the one they miss the most

Who knew him well - they like to pretend -
But we all know that that's just an empty boast
