Sometimes the past catches up with us
Is it something to look forward to?
Are we going to make a fuzz
Or do we believe it is something new?

The past is what we look back to
It makes us forget, it makes us regret
We have to live it through and through
Just so we know what we beget

The past can help us in the future
As long as we live and learn from it
It makes us grow, it makes the suture
Holds us together and yearn for it

But sometimes we have to let go
We cannot hold onto the past forever
Even if it is difficult to let go
Live your life now and not never

The past helps us remember
It is there to be learned from
The present will change to the past
And we can always go on
