I think about leaving here for the country almost every day
Wondering about a future and this city life
The babies grown and jumping almost every single night
And even lately I know for me, played loud feels right

I don't get it
This all used to feel just fine
I belonged and it was mine
Something new every night
Nothing wrong, just city life

Now fewer friends are calling
But I have learned it's okay and how to let them go
Still like to dance the tango
Just move a little slow
Dressed this way for the cold
But sometimes it's lovely
It's everything I need
The best friend I know

So okay, I'm just being sentimental
It's not so very special
Just can't help but try
It's just this city life

Who's in control
Nobody's home and I'm calling
Been alone too damn long
And I'm failing
City life
And we're calling
Thinking twice
