A saint was searching for redemption
Sought solace in his prayers every night
But then a sister came and crossed his path one day
And helped to show him the light

Now I heard he hasn’t left his bed since then
Though he still sings glory halleluiah
But his praises sound more broken now
And it isn’t God
He’s singing too

God never cries...

Even when the sky is falling

A man thought he was an angel
Tried to fly to the heart of the sun
For a moment, he almost had wings
In another moment, undone

Now I must admit
I know these men well
I’ve walked down the same streets before
I’ve been the saint
I’ve been the sinner
I’ve been the virgin
I’ve been the whore
