And so it crawled to life eventually
Not far from the city where it all began
It came, it saw and it won
Then, facing the sudden on the face of the earth
As abandoned and vague as the thought of it being born
It trampled through the coastline:
"This shall be the end; marked be my dark continent"

I was talking to myself but the god was there
Sitting under an umbrella, crying
Nobody ever looked at a humble man
Who was dressed as an elephant, dancing the high-wire
Who won't let the past go by

The one thing you could never want is what you'll get for sure
The one thing you could never reach still waits you at your door
The one thing you could never have still keeps you going on
