I remember Tommy, I don't remember lies
I remember thinking this time I'm gonna die
But who remembers answers when it's all behind
But I remember Tommy Boy's eyes

I was on the corner just staring at the sky
People walked right through me but I could not reply
That's when he came upon me and asked me for the time
And I believe that he read my mind

He said his name was Tommy
Been watching for awhile
Felt as if he knew me and understood my style
Said he had it figured that we could run awhile
Looked at me and started to smile

So we took off running and tearing up the street
Nothing stood between us and the treasure at our feet
The captain of the city and I was right behind
Never even thought about time

Said he had a new plan, the biggest of his plays
Asked me if I'd do it, or was I too afraid
I told him I believed him, regret it to this day
Looked at him and started to say

I believed in nothing
But I believe in loving you

The lights came down upon me I fell into the crowd
I called out for Tommy but he was not around
The captain of the city and I was right behind
Never even thought about time

Who believes in pictures? Who believes in saints?
I believed in Tommy, till he took my name
