This sort of thing I don't just make up

I was in the middle of a lie when that colour caught my eye
I was in the middle of a falsehood babe
I didn't recognize that crazy shade
I didn't ever want to fess-up
No matter how bad I had messed up
I was in the middle of a lie when that colour caught my eye

I was in the middle of a song, thought it might be going long
I was in the middle of a heartfelt tune
And I could feel the ending coming soon
I didn't ever want to let go
But it broke the chain all on it's own, oh!
I was in the middle of a song and then the song was up and gone.
