Blue skies Songtext

The taste of your kiss,
How the memory lingers,
On times before Paradise slipped through the fingers,
Of hands letting go,
Heed the need to be strong,
(as a flower still in bloom though it's Summer has gone
Turns it's withering leaf to a quickening sky),
For your smile was the sun,
I watch it's light pass me by.

What I thought was the whisper of copper boughs shaking,
Was merely my heart almost silently breaking,
To find life without you chilled deeper than dying,
As November's winds froze the tears I sat crying.
My head in my hands and a gut-full of drink,
(far too little to eat) - and much too much to think,
About facing these fears I've known all Summer lnog.
How can something this right go so terribly wrong?

Though loving you nourishes,
Fills me with hope.
So missing you punishes,
(it chokes me like a rope).
I don't know which hurts most;
Still wanting you dearly,
Or recalling those days when you yearned for me.....nearly?

As years age to Winter,
This heart turns to stone,
That the cruel frost may splinter,
Exposed here alone.
So I'll close my eyes tightly,
And pretend I've just seen,
A warm sun in the blue skies high above Angell Green.
