Voluptuary Songtext

Morals gone the same way as innocence,
Corruption takes root in untilled soil,
Limbo from afar never seemed so cold,
Still you have an unknowing, strangling hold,
A weight crushing upon me, sisyphean the toil,
It suffocates all hope and thought of redemption.

One path taken, while the other is lost,
I live, mocked by the one untrod,
It poisons me slowly, pervading all,
Regrets course through me, they threaten to kill;
The journey takes me, this Rubicon crossed,
Closer to Heaven, yet further from God.

Voluptuary,
No turning back,
Voluptuary,
My choice is made.

I've endured the rack, felt it pull me apart-
My God, how did this ever start?-
Suffered stark terrors- the long, dark night of the soul-
Thrice the cock crowed, I've tried to fill the hole,
Yet no prick of conscience penetrates
To save me from this fall from heavenly grace.

One path taken, while the other is lost,
I live, mocked by the one untrod,
It poisons me slowly, pervading all,
Regrets course through me, they threaten to kill;
The journey takes me, this Rubicon crossed,
Closer to Heaven, yet further from God.

Voluptuary,
No turning back,
Voluptuary,
My choice is made.

Consumed by passion, I must give in to sin-
So help me I used to have an untainted soul-
This passion has wormed its way beneath my skin,
These ravenous doubts are devouring me whole;
If the road to hell is paved with good intentions,
Then I cannot tell where it is I am going.

One path taken, while the other is lost,
I live, mocked by the one untrod,
It poisons me slowly, pervading all,
Regrets course through me, they threaten to kill;
The journey takes me, this Rubicon crossed,
Closer to Heaven, yet further from God.
