Don't patronise me with your justifications,
Resuscitation won't work on me again-

Do not come to me pleading for absolution,
I have watched your treachery enough times to know

Please just live your life, act the parts, deal the pain.

I've tried to hold the middle ground, not concede the field,
Given the respect I thought that you deserved
Yet the little scene played out in front of me
Has bared a part of you I hoped not to exist.
When I look at you now I see you for what you are
I know your true worth and, no, I won't be buying,
You've shown your true colours and they're not ones I like
And not ones I would want a friend to wear.

From pain we learn avoidance and you have taught me well,
A lesson in trust you have given that I will never forget
