He's a lovely man with a whistle on his lips
A painter and he loves to paint red tulips
A good guy and a friend to everyone he meets
And when he buys new paint in the little store

He said play me a picture

For many years we've come together each day
I sing about flowers and he paints for hours and when I go
I say "See you Monday"

We sat down on his balcony
Watched the people from above and drank a cup of tea
I said, lets turn the tables for just one day
He gave me his brushes and I gave him my guitar

The painter said "thanks, I'm as rich as I can be
