Once there was a ballerina
Where she came from no one knew
People called her Caterina
Only I knew that wasn't true
When I first saw Caterina
She was only seventeen
Just a lovely ballerina
Nor a princess nor a queen

She would dance away the hours
She was living in a dream
All the princes brought her flowers
Even though she was no queen

To see her
