It's been more then a year now
Time measured in the hours between the seconds you felt something
There's been too many days of trying
But did you try enough?

As the sky paints your world in just one color
It doesn't make things lighter
It doesn't make time go faster either
It's been more then a year of falling in and out of routine
Sleepless nights with always the same image displayed
Between a face and a bedroom wall
Motion turns to stills
A city lacking speed
The surroundings falling asleep it seems
And as the sun sets at three in the afternoon
You can tell that next year is closing in
That the things you did and didn't do
What you said and didn't say
They will soon be nothing
Last year's highs and lows
People's whose names you can't remember but with familiar faces
And how your loved ones traded places
