I'm a magician, I'll say it's real.

I hope they never find me out.
I'm just a faker and a cheat.
I don't know how I got into this place, but I must get out before I lose my face.
The freaks and clowns, they got their bag of tricks, and then they're down, they're out, just like a little itch.
My money is on the kid wit nothing but an empty cardboard box.
He wants to fill it with some pretty sounds and colors of his choice.
He keeps a knowing eye on everyone.
He knows they're just a hoax, cuz they tell him all at once, "

You got to find the way." I don't know how I opened up my throat, but I did somehow, and it all came spilling out.
And the critics, the clowns, they try to shut me up, but I won't come down.
I'm happiest when I sing out loud.
I'd like to make a promise to all my past and future selves.
