My Aberration
Adam D Brierley
(inner voices)
You shine your light in my eye
Bringing haze into my life, but
My aberration is all you see.
Your spot-light shines on my face,
Dissolves the depth about this place,
Through the eye of your lens, is this me?
Do you capture the touch, does your picture show this emptiness,
Do you capture the place, the place where you leave me behind.
Airbrush line around my eyes, paint the dark clouds, paint them white,
Through the eye of your lens is this me?
I've waited for the rain to come,
To wash away these lies,
I want to see you in the rain.
Now I'm blinded by reflection,
From the pool beneath my feet,
And its ripples fill my head again.
Do you capture the touch, does your picture show this emptiness,
Do you capture the place, the place where you leave me behind.
You shine your light in my eyes,
Bringing haze into my life,
My aberration, is what you see.
Airbrush lines around my eyes,
Mold me your way,
Through the eye of your lens, is this what – you wanna see!
I've waited for the rain to come,
To wash away these lies,
I want to see you in the rain.
Now I'm blinded by reflection,
From the pool beneath my feet,
And its ripples fill my head again.
Do you capture the touch, does your picture show this emptiness,
Do you capture the place, the place where you leave me behind.
