My Left Eye Lyrics

Lyrics
My left eye was gauged
It rolled away on the ground
The sight was profound

It rolled down the sidewalk and into the street
It rolled to coney island and played "shoot the freak"
The boardwalk had changed but the cyclone was the same

My eye jumped in the pocket of a girl with blonde curls
She didn't notice that she trailed an optic nerve

My eye licked a pie
And slammed a cool beer
And rolled onto the pier
It gazed out over the salty blue
And recalled the cavity
That it once knew
Already a lovely distant memory

There'd be no tears
With the duct left behind
Merely a dilation
To say its sweet goodbye
My left eye was free
And it rolled into the sea

While back home
I fumbled to fill the empty hole
I found a dried rosebud i'd kept from my love
The dehydrated bloom was an awkward fit
But what else could i do

But when it startled the mailman
I popped in a pretty glass marble for show
It couldn't be too difficult to fill a silly hole
