Sometimes love is a sad salvation
You can't stay warm in it's feeble glow
Sometimes love is a sad salvation
But it's the only love she knows

She smiles at the children selling candy on the street
Remembers the good old days, a life so bittersweet
Listens to the schoolgirls sing their songs a little louder
And with the weight of the world she walks a little prouder

He's waiting upstairs, hasn't been out for a while
She cries as she feeds him, she lives for his smile
Speaks with his eyes, goodbye, they're saying
They tremble inside, they can hear eachother's heart breaking

With tired eyes and a weary soul
She stares at the past frozen on her wall
Seems like a million years, feels like only yesterday
That he lived in those eyes - now so far away

She lays down beside him like she's done for years and years
Kisses his face, so wet from her tears
Will she wake up alone - she don't wanna go to sleep
She curses life for giving her - what it just can't let her keep

Her hands start to tremble as she packs up his clothes
Everything's got a story - now only she knows
She sighs then she smiles, surprising herself
Even through the hard times she could never love anybody else
