Taught to think that closeness will
Come that way, and so we've
Followed the path even though
We're the ones at stake.
Our bodies we'll use, we'll use
Others as tools, but what we try to
Gain only brings us more pain
We give no thought to the life that
Lies inside, when will we realize
That every time we are dehumanized
Every act a degradation, another
Game we play, in the end we can
Only lose, in the end we are
Betrayed
We are betrayed

Taught to think that closeness will
Come that way, and I followed that
Path though I was the one at stake
Dehumanized, desensitized in
Search of what we're taught is the
Greatest prize.
And I know that closeness doesn't
Come that way
And I want to know how many
Times I'll fall prey
How many time can we make the
Same mistakes
How many times will we allow
Ourselves to be betrayed
