I wonder what she meant when she said Yes like that.
It was the way she said it: "Yeeeah," she said. Not "Yes" but "Yeeah-s"
I wonder if she meant No. Hhm...
I should've asked her what she meant, that's what I shoulda done.
That would have finished her off, wouldn't it!
I bet she's been here every year saying "Yeeah-s", just like that.
Driving people nearly bonkers. Getting away with it.
Gor, I wish I'd asked her, but I didn't think of it.
Mind you, if she'd said Maybe, I wouldn't have minded so much.
Well, I mean at least it's honest, ain't it!
A person says Maybe and you are on their side; you - you warm to them.
But not when they say "Yeeeeah-s". puts your back up.
Well, it's only natural, I suppose, really.
