Before the sun has wrestled through our blinds,
My body wakes me up.
A quiet dream finale breathes from your lips;
I catch it with a kiss.
You turn to me and you ask, "What time is it"?
I grab my phone
And let you know that "It's too early".

I love these ordinary times.
Breaths before the moments.
And in these ordinary times,
I'm at ease with you.

The corner fro-yo shop late at night,
Walk over in our sweats.
We get our bowls to go with plastic spoons,
And return back home.
We climb in bed, and cue up our favorite show.
You fall asleep on my chest before it's over.

I love these ordinary times.
Breaths before the moments.
And in these ordinary times,
I'm at ease with you.

My warm body next to yours.
Long drives back home.
Old clothes you'll never throw away.
I'm at ease...

A late morning brunch at our spot,
A table in the sun.
Every dog that comes to say hello,
You greet em' with a kiss.
You look at me with those eyes
That says you want one.
We both know it'll probably be
A few more years.
