Über Martha and the Vandellas
Martha and the Vandellas war eine der erfolgreichsten Motown-Gruppen der 1960er Jahre. Die Gruppe bestand aus Gesangssolistin Martha Reeves, Annette Sterling und Rosalind Ashford. Sie waren bekannt für Hits wie "Heat Wave", "Dancing in the Street" und "Nowhere to Run". Ihre Songs wurden oft bilingual produziert und waren von Funk, R&B, Soul und Pop inspiriert. Sie waren ein Teil des Motown-Stils, der eine Mischung aus Motown-Pop, Soul und Funk hervorbrachte. Motown-Produzenten, die an Martha and the Vandellas-Songs arbeiteten, sind unter anderem Holland–Dozier–Holland und Smokey Robinson.
