Die Band erlangte internationale Bekanntheit mit Hits wie "The House of the Rising Sun", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" und "We Gotta Get Out of This Place". Ihre Musik hat Jazz-, Rhythm-and-Blues- und Psychedelic-Elemente und ist ein Proto-Heavy-Metal-Sound.
